The Williams Sports line of Woods and hybrids incorporates state of the art technology straight from the Williams F1 Race Team. Key elements from wind tunnel testing have been incorporated into the full line of metals. 3 Key elements have allowed us to increase clubhead speed by reducing drag on the clubhead. The combination of the Trip, Winglets, and Diffuser have allowed us to build a club that is more efficient and reduces drag by approximately 11%. The use of Densimett in the weight ports gives the club an ultra high MOI making the club more stable through the hitting area and proprietary Williams F1 Titanium is used in the clubface. Combine all these elements along with top of the line Fujikura shafts and you have the ultimate driver. Simply put, this technology will allow you to swing the club faster and keep the head more stable allowing you to hit the ball further and straighter.

Thanks to an exclusive partnership with Williams Formula 1, the Williams Golf Player Series Driver combines traditional finishes with state of the art aerodynamic and material advancements from the Formula 1 racetrack. Elevated to a whole new performance level with three key aerodynamic features--the Trip, Winglets, and a Diffuser--the Player Series is engineered to manage airflow and reduce drag for longer, straighter drives. In addition, the Player Series boasts unique Densimet metal weighting for a maximized head shape and weight as well as a Williams Formulated Titanium (WFTi) Core for absolute formability, strength, and heat-treatment properties.

Key Aerodynamic Design Features:

  • Trip: The Trip redirects airflow over the crown of the driver to minimize the surface area of the crown that is affected by airflow contact. This is an important feature in the reduction of drag.
  • Winglets: The Winglets manage and control the air flowing around the heel and toe section of the clubhead, creating a more consistent and stable path throughout the downswing and at impact.
  • Diffuser: The Diffuser is a key component in diffusing and controlling the air the flow across the soleplate. Combining the Diffuser with the effectiveness of the 'Trip', the wake and density of airflow off the rear of the club is minimized for reduced drag on the clubhead.

Formula 1 Densimet Weighting:
Williams Sports entire golf product line utilizes Densimet for its weighting purposes. A by-product of the Williams F1 technology, Densimet is the second heaviest metal in the world. Williams uses Densimet in the FW32 racecar to bring the car up to the minimum race weight and to provide additional traction for the driver. Densimet is heavier than Tungsten and other materials traditionally used for weighting in the golf industry. By using Densimet, Williams Sports can maximize its design capabilities thanks to the reduced head-volume needed to create the same headweight when Tungsten or other materials are used. This is just another way that Williams Sports is bringing F1 technology to golf.

Williams Formulated Titanium (WFTi) Core:
Derived from the F1 team of engineers, WFTi is used in all Williams Sports drivers. Modeled after the SP-700 titanium commonly used in golf design, this specially formulated WFTi SP-700 titanium offers even greater formability, strength, and heat treatment properties than the original. Williams' WFTi material promotes longer drives and a longer driver lifespan.

The Williams Sports line of products exclusively features Fujikura shafts. These shafts are produced in Japan and manufactured to the highest Japanese standards. Each Fujikura shaft has been custom tailored to each model of Williams Sports products to ensure the highest level of performance. The Player series features a dual compound grip. This grip utilizes multiple rubber compounds and cord to create a unique feel. The upper hand utilizes a black rubber cord combination for a firm grip in all weather conditions. The lower hand features a softer rubber compound to ensure feel and control.
