Information on Forest Creek Golf Club

Golf Clubs

The Forest Creek Golf Clubs was founded in the 1940's and is located in the Pinehurst area in the state of North Carolina. The course was designed by Tom Fazio. Whilst the layout of the course has gone through some changes throughout the years, an expansion course was opened in 2001.

Facts About Forest Creek Golf Club

The first course was constructed in 1994 by Terry and Louis Brown and was the center of the 1,265 acre club, as well as being named one of the top fifty private golf courses in the United States. The course is very scenic with longleaf and loblolly pines lining the fairways and greens. Fazio was quoted saying once that the landscape was a course designer's dream.

In concept, the course is very basic yet it is still challenging enough for even the most hardened and experienced of players. It is a simplistic course devoid of tricks. Landing areas are more than ample and every shot has a clear angle. The course weaves and winds its way through the pines touching several manmade lakes, measuring 7,000 yards in length overall.

Typical courses designed by Fazio each have an alternative shot and every hole has multiple routes to pin. Forest Creek Golf Club, however, remains to be one of his finest works. While everything above may make the course out to be fairly easy, strategic placement of bunkers and water also provides little relief from errand shots. In addition, the several par fives can be reached in two for the longest of hitters, but you have to weigh the risk of swinging for it all against landing your shot array.

Forest Creek Golf Club is one of the finest examples of a Southern golf course within the United States. Forest Creek Golf Club plays like a dream and keeps the challenge high and alive for all golfers, but remains playable for just about all regardless of handicap.

If there was a single drawback to the course, however, it would be that it is a private club, meaning you would have to know a member if you wish to play at Forest Creek Golf Club. If you can find one and get the opportunity to play the course, you should take it. You'll never know - it might be one of the greatest and most fun challenges you'll experiences. In addition, there is an outstanding restaurant and lushly accommodated club house. Forest Creek Golf Club offers the perfect venue, if you can get in.
